Engage in full plenary dialogue with Doug Leighton from Brookfield, Jen Hancock from Chandos Construction, and Julie Pithers from DIRTT as we explore innovation and leadership towards our vision for sustainability in our built environment.

11:00 Breaking Down Barriers: Creating the Pathway to Calgary's Future City 

Participate in two interactive workshops (11:15am & 3:30pm), hosted in collaboration with "Unstoppable Conversations" with your peers in development, planning, and government as we identify the road blocks and the pathways to achieving our vision of a Resilient "Future City" for Calgary.

12:30 The Pathway Forward: Options for Resilience

This session will include a Guest Keynote; Chad Townsend, Town of Banff speaking on "Feed-In-Tariffs" as well as a concurrent interactive Panel Sessions where you will engage our P2S Calgary Partners as we define elements and opportunities to accelerate the transformation of our built form.

4:30 Conference Wrap up - Pathway Forward

This conference is intended to focus discussion on the opportunities for Calgary to transform into a "future city" - resilient and sustainable for a future generation. During the Conference Wrap up we will summarize key learnings, action items, and next steps for P2S Calgary and the key players that will play a role in attaining Calgary's sustainability goals for the Built Environment.

Craig Applegath, Dialog Design

Craig ApplegathCraig Applegath is the founding principal of DIALOG’s Toronto Studio, and a passionate designer who believes in the power of built form to meaningfully improve the wellbeing of communities and the environment they are part of. Since graduating from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University with a Master of Architecture in Urban Design, Craig has focused his energies on leading innovative planning and design projects that address the complex challenges facing our communities, as well as on his advocacy of sustainable building design and urban regeneration and symbiosis. Craig’s area of practice includes the master planning and design of institutional projects, including cultural and museum, post secondary education, and healthcare facilities, as well as the design of innovative industrial and manufacturing facilities. Craig was a founding Board Member of Sustainable Buildings Canada, a Past President of the Ontario Association of Architects, and the current moderator of SymbioticCities.net. Craig has lectured or taught at Harvard, the University of Toronto, the University of Waterloo, as well as at many professional and sector related conferences around the world. In 2001 Craig was made a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada for his contributions to the profession of architecture.
